Ah, what the heck . . .

BSc (Hons) - Ediacaran palaeontology and palaeoenvironment from a site in
the Flinders Ranges, South Australia

PhD - Palaeontology and taphonomy of a Lower Cambrian fossil Lagerstatte,
South Australia
Concentrated on the unusual preservation (fibrous CaC03 and CaPO4) -
especially the oldest phosphatized muscle tissue so far reported.

Research interests:
Palaeontology - Ediacaran assemblage (that's what they pay me for), Lower
Cambrian soft-bodied faunas (especially Chengjiang, China and relationship
to Australian faunas), Evolution in Lower Cambrian trilobites.

Taphonomy - especially early diagenetic geochemistry.

Palaeoenvironments - Ediacaran and other Lagerstatten (especially using
geochemistry).

Will be at NAPC-96 in Washington in June (come and say hi)

Many say it was a mistake to come down from the trees, some say
the move out of the oceans was a bad idea. Me, I say the stiffening
of the notochord in the Cambrian was where it all went wrong,
it was all downhill from there.
