Everyone seems to be introducing themselves so I might as well join in

Russ Jacobson
Age: 46

Other info: Married, 3 teen-aged daughters (13,15,17)

Hobbies/interests: Macintosh computers, web surfing, N-scale model
railroading, collecting fossils, science fiction books, movies and shows
(especially Babylon 5 and Star Trek), country music.

Occupation: Paleontologist/Stratigrapher, Illinois State Geological Survey

I have worked for nearly 23 years in Pennsylvanian and Mississippian
stratigraphy, paleontology. Been involved in geological mapping since early
1980's. Started field recon work in Jurassic and Cretaceous dinosaur sites
in late 1980's. Began leading educational and scientific dinosaur digs in
1991. Currently involved in program to study and excavate Hell Creek
material from NW South Dakota. Also have been running a web page for nearly
2 years called Dino Russ's Lair which has dinosaur, vertebrate and other
paleontology info as well as over 1000 links (categorized) to geoscience
sites on the web. Currently starting work on Coal Section pages at ISGS.

Well thats the short version. Spend most of my time lurking on this list
but I am always reading most of what appears if I am not too rushed <grin>
