new maniraptoran dino described in print
I received a note asking where one might get copies of the Journal of
the Geological Society, whose January 1996 issue carries the 4-page
description of the new dino. The answer is more or less the same
regardless of which side of which pond you reside on; hopefully you live
relatively near a geological research library. This is one of the oldest,
if not the oldest, geological journals in English and remains a major
journal. Lots of copies go around the world (there is information on
that in this issue as well). The editorial coverage includes all types
of geology, world wide, thought the editors admit somewhat of a bias
towards structural geology--a reflection of submissions. Ask around the
geologists you know if someone is a fellow of the Geological Society,
there is a world wide membership and one gets the Journal as part of
membership.
