I doubt that the Laramide involved more volcanism than is now seen
along the west coast ranges.  While many people now living there
see *volcanos*, few indeed see volcanic *eruptions*.

And any given site rarely has more than one or two volcanos visible
from ground level, if that many (many places, even in the most
volcanically active areas of the west coast, are out of site of any
volcanos).
