Akemashite Omedeto Gozaimasu!

Japanese newspaper reported nodosaurid dinosaur and 
plesiosaur fossil found from Hokkaido, the north island of the four 
major islands in Japan.  

The nodosaurid fossil was a partial skull and it was found 
from Yubari city in last June.  It may be the first record of 
nodosaurid dinosaur from Asia.  Hiroshi Hayakawa, curator of 
Mikasa city museum and Kenneth Carpenter will report this fossil 
in the meeting of the Japanese Paleontological Society holds at 
Osaka late this month.

The plesiosaur fossil was several vertebras and a partial 
fin (digit part).  It was found from the Cretaceous stratum of 
Ikushunbetsu river, Mikasa city in last August.  This plesiosaur
 may be an infant because the length of the fin was 30-40 cm 
(estimation of the body length is 2-3 m).  The fossil is now in 
preparation, we will get more information about this plesiosaur.
