Because:

A) The Creationists are politically powerful, and are trying to
destroy our education system.

B) Most viewers think anything presented as fact on TV *must* be true.

C) Combined with B, a show like the one cited tends to make the
Creationsits more credible in the eyes of the voting public,
giving them even more political power.
