When you are talking about an animal with legs as long as a T.rex,
"fast" is a relative term. Even if it couldn't move its legs very
quickly, its stride along would have allowed it respectable speeds.
Elephants are big animals with long legs, and even though they can't run
in the technical sense of the word, they can really move. In a series of
stampedes of Indian elephants last year, animals were supposedly clocked
at around 40mph.
Also, although Horner beleives T.rex was a scavenger, I don't think
he extends this to mean it was slow moving or sluggish.
