Mollecular sieve beds and various resins have, indeed, been used in these
modern times to concentrate oxygen. It would be  fascinating, indeed, if a 
process
derived from NASA's space program (the Home Oxygen Concentrator) turns
out to have been in use millions of years ago!  Gee nothing is new anymore.
