I don't think anyone here is or was bashing Christianity. And I think
it is _entirely_ reasonable for paleontologists, or even interested
laypeople such as myself, to point out that the idea that the Earth
is only 6000 years old is hokum. As you yourself point out, this idea
is completely unrelated to such moral teachings as "Thou shalt not
kill"; I think you misread the message to which you are responding.
