You can nest clades inside each other, no problem.  And I would carry the 
process to that extent, though I wouldn't try to make a clade out of the 
protozoa (still less fish!).  There are aleady perfectly good terms 
available like eukaryotes and vertebrates, without any need for changing
the meaning of others.
