AAM and Re: Dr. Russell's "Dinosauroid" (was: "The New Dinosaurs")

I never particularly liked it either, and despite all of the "avoid
the 'roid" comments that were sent to this list last summer, I found
myself next to a 5 foot tall version of the thing today.  I was at the
American Association of Museums annual meeting checking out the
exhibitor's displays.  The 'roid (at least the one I saw) was sculpted
by the Canadian Museum of Nature.  

Since people on this list frequently ask about how and where they can
obtain casts and sculptures, I looked at all of the appropriate
exhibits and tried to pick up literature wherever I could.  If you're
interested, let me know and I'll try to summarize some of what I saw.
One thing I'm sure many of you would have drooled over... the
Allosaurus on the cover of David Lambert's _The Ultimate Dinosaur
Book_ was sculpted full size.  I hung out with it for a while today
