Well, either he is the butt of some nasty practical joke,
or he thinks it is April 1.

While there are some large mammals, they are all Neogene.
And the largest mammals are all herbivores (as in the dinosaurs).

[The article seems to be unclear as to whether this beast is
supposed to be a dinosaur or a mammal anyhow - as if the author
doesn't really know the difference, and thinks all large extinct
animals are dinosaurs].

If such a thing had really been found, it would be all over
this mailing list, and all over the paleo groups on Usenet.
It isn't, so there was no such find.
