Who's on this listserver???



Thought the group may be interested in some statistics on who subscribes to
this dinosaur listserver:
 
There are 676 of us as of 5/5/95.

Two subscribers did not wish to have their names devulged when they
subscribed.

The break-down is thus:
  1) Commercial services accounts (.com) have 211 subscribers on the list,
     or 31% of the total number of subscribers.
       a) of this group, .AOL accounts comprise the largest percentage of
          .com.... 34%

  2) Educational accounts (.edu) have 253 subscribers (37% of all
     subscribers).  
       a) of which the largest number of accounts are from Western
          Washington University in Bellingham, WA. (32 subscribers, or 13%
          of all educational accounts).  Yes, the rumors are true; they ARE
          as ubiquitous as .AOL'ers!

3) Network accounts (.net) = 35 subscriptions, or 5% of the total.

4) (.US) addresses= 19 (3%).

5) Non-profit accounts (.org)= 13 (2%).

6) U.S. military accounts (.mil)= 8
7)  U.S. government accounts (.gov) =9
                     (couple were nasa accounts)
8) Canada= 44 (7%) 
9) Germany=2
10) Sweden=3
11) Finland=2
12) Denmark=1
13) Iceland= 1
14) Norway=2
15) United Kingdom= 25
16) Netherlands= 2
17) Poland=2
18) New Zealand= 4
19) Australia= 15
20) Japan= 3
21) France= 2
22) Korea= 1
23) Italy=1
24) Mexico= 2
25) Taiwan= 2
26) Other unidentified country addresses= 10
27) Miscellaneous unidentified account addresses= 2
28) Non-devulged (secret) names= 2 (hmmm...celebraties in our midst??).
