dino numeracy
Hello all;
I was wondering if someone who knows could help me with my apparently
out-of-kilter assumptions concerning total number of 'viable' specimens.
As a result of following the list, I have learned that the total number
of T-Rex remains (remnants of individual Rexxes) is about 16? Is that
correct?
As a 29 year it is safe to assume I saw at least 17 very different
representations of T-Rex before I was even 4.
I suppose it lodged in my formative brain the assumption that there were
many more examples of individual Rexxes than there must be.
Can someone list a breakdown of how many viable specimens are currently
known of for at least the dino's commonly represented in sets of toys, etc.?
Just a basic reality check. If there are only 3 Saurolophus specimens in
existence, for example, it would greatly affect my critical capacity when
faced with arguments to and fro about Saurolophus (configuration of
anatomy, role in Cretaceous ecosystem, diet, credit rating, etc).
Trying to hack back at my conditioning and Western Science hubris here a
little.
Thanks very much,
