I got news for ya - fugu is poisonous no matter _how_ it is prepared.
It is simply _less_ poisonous if prepared _properly_.  However, five
or six people a year are done in by fugu sushi a year.  That's why
you can't find it for sale in the US.

P.S.  Of course, aspirin is poisonous to cats, so I guess we can eat
a lot of things poisonous to other animals.  Of course the reverse is
true, too.
