Literally "around a year" and "around a day".  That is, cycles that
recur with roughly one year and one day periodicity respectively.  For
instance, you probably sleep for 6-8 hours once every 24 hours.  That
would be a circadian pattern.  A circannual pattern would be something
like birds that lay eggs once a year (usually around the same time,
like during the late spring).
