Re: Dino fiction
The best 'intelligent dinosaur' story I've read, IMHO, is Robert Sawyer's
Quintaglio trilogy - Far-Seer, Fossil Hunter and Foreigner. Unlike Harry
Harrison's Eden series, the dinosaurs (dwarf tyrannosaurids with boosted
intelligence) are the heroes. The series begins with the invention of the
telescope, and follows the tyrannosaurs' discovery of their origin and
future, with some wonderful diversions (including a murder mystery and
chunks of Moby Dick). Highly recommended.
