hopping theropods
RE; hopping theropods. I suspect hopping wasn't the way most theropods
would have locomoted, but I'm speaking a bit out of ignorance of the
skeletal adaptations present in roos that show they're hoppers. Maybe
someone on the list is better informed on this point. I know Greg Paul
has considered kangaroos a good allometric model for theropods but don't
know what he's done on this lately. I suspect hopping is allometrically
out of bounds for the really big boys (and ladies) anyway because of
massiv stress on the leg bones. Maybe I just don't want to start having
to call all theropods joey [insert Crocodile Dundee joke here].
