1) A note in New Scientist states that a letter to Nature from Svante
Paabo will show the DNA taken from the supposed dino bone published
by the BYU researchers a few months ago really is a contaminate from
human DNA and not dino. Scott Woodward, the head of the BYU team,
not suprisingly disagrees with this conclusions but is going to other
sequences (the original was a cytochrome B sequence) to further the
research. Stay tuned.
2) A new book apparently has been published on the Crystal Palace
dinos, with a detailed and well-illustrated history of them. It is
about $11.00 (6.95 Pounds) and is only available from the Crystal
Palace Museum, Anerly Hill, London SE19 2BA. I'm going to try and
get a copy for myself. There is a review by Michael Taylor in
New Scientist 11FEB95.
