I was wondering if you could explain to me why artists' depictions of
dinosaurs never have hair or fur on them? Is there scientific certainty that
dinosaurs were not hairy or furry? If so, then why is this true? I read
somewhere that many think that hair is restricted to mammals only (is this
the reason dinosaurs don't have hair or fur?). But, aren't there mammals
that don't have hair or fur (like the dolphin)??
Anyway, I hope this basic question doesn't offend anyone. I have always been
interested in dinosaurs but have never heard (or read) an explanation for the
dinosaurs lack of fur/hair.
Thank you.
