This of course wouldn't _preclude_ hunting, cooperative or otherwise. It
would merely require them to guard their catch while it ripens - not a very
long wait on the average sunny day, of course. I seem to recall that crocs
often let their food ripen for a while after a successful hunt. And of
course humans have been known to prefer ripe meat - the bizarre preference
for fortnight-old pheasant among the English which endeared them to the
Japanese, which was sited so colorfully in Clavell's novel _Shogun_, being
one example. :)
