Dinosaur Genera List corrections #33
Tom Holtz tells me that newly discovered, as-yet-undescribed material of
_Lisboasaurus_ from Las Hoyas in Spain indicates it is not a dinosaur but
some kind of mesosuchian crocodylian. This is interesting, because
_Lisboasaurus_ was originally described in 1973 as a lacertilian and later,
in 1991, British paleontologists Angela C. Milner and Susan Evans redescribed
it as a small maniraptoran.
Unfortunately, this decreases the count of potential dino-bird candidates by
one.
So--place an asterisk after the name _Lisboasaurus_.
Genera count remains unchanged at 773.
