apologies for interrupted service
Hello dinosaur list,
As I mentioned a while back, I'm going to be out of town nearly all of
next week. Ordinarily this would not be a problem--listproc usually
runs the dinosaur list well without me. However, today I had
something sprung upon me which will likely require that somebody else
play around with the machine in my absence. Lepomis will likely get
rebooted at least once, and I unfortunately don't have any provisions
for getting listproc restarted on its own. I know it's possible to
have it come up automatically, but never having needed to do it, I
don't know how to set it up properly.
If I can find a way to log on to lepomis next week, I will try to see
to it that the list stays in operation. However, I can't make any
promises. Well, I can make one. One week from today, reliable
service will resume.

P.S. If you get curious about whether or not the list is running,
please don't try to use the "statistics" command. I have reason to
believe that it causes listproc to hang. Ironically I'm pretty sure
that in the past, people who thought listproc might be down, killed it
by trying to verify their suspicions.
