Scavenging T. rex
The idea of a tyrannosaurid as a pure scavenger is silly! Gregory Paul noted
in his Predatory Dinosaurs of the World that only a flying animal could be a
pure scavenger. Vultures have a great advantage with their air-borne view.
Hyenas and tyrannosaurs would have to spend too much time and energy
searching for carrion.
And how can we accurately measure how much carrion was laying around in the
Late Cretaceous? It seems this is pretty far out speculation to me.
