RE: opposable hands in humans?
Greetings,
Do humans have truly opposable hands? The natural closure
of the hands gives us a fist with the thumb pointing to the base of the
little finger and the fingers pointing along the mid-line of the palm.
I can force my hand to operate in a truly opposable fashion, but it is not
natural. In gripping a tool, the SIDE of the thumb opposes the other
digits. The axes of coiling are not parallel however.
