Impacts, blides, and all that

The International Astronomical Union is having its triennial General
Assembly in The Hague this week. The special session on the comet impacts
starts in abot 45 minutes. I will try to post relevant information on likely 
scaing,
the sizes of the fragments, etc. (but it may haver to awati my return and
the start of classes - forgive typos over a slow net connection).
