Re: extinction
While I don't believe we understand any past extinction event, I
wounder what the geological record will show on the current extinction
event? I wounder how much of our construction will remain in a
multi-million year old strata?
While many people doubt that we are causing an extinction event look at
the number of species that we know have died out as a direct cause of our
actions, i.e. the Passenger Pigeon, the American Elm (not quite, but
close), etc.
The introduction of decease can be shown in the American Elm, a fungus
brought in from overseas has nearly wipped out this tree, which once
covered large tracts of North America.
