Dinosaur anatomical jargon
For Scott Horton:
OK, now I have a sense of the need. For basic anatomical terminology, includ
Ng you listed in the message today (e.g., trochanter, foramen,
phalanx, ungual, manus, pes, etc. etc.) all you need is a basic comparative
anatomy text with a decent section on osteology. I recommend "the
vertebrate body" by Romer and Parsons (Saunders). I have the 6th ed.
(1986) in front of me, but this book should be widely available. Go to
(sorry about the interruptions) any library.
As for the oter question on the paperback version of "Dinosauria" I'm
pretty sure there's a typo and the upper node 27 is the one for which the
apomorphous features of Cerapoda were intended.
(more noise)
Let me know if more terminology comes up.
