On June 2, Blagoveshchensk (on the Amur River) celebrates Amurosaurus with artistic event to paint flat plywood figures of the dinosaur, There is no local paleontological museum but Amurosaurus has become a city symbol after the fossils were in discovered in 1984 and then named by Russian paleontologists Yuri Bolotsky and Sergey Kurzanov in 1991.(in Russian)
