[dinosaur] Baby hadrosaurs + Sonorasaurus bill + fossilization + more

Some recent items:

Did baby hadrosaurs walk on four feet like adults? Maisaura skeletons suggested babies walked on their back legs until they reached a certain size, then began walking with the forelimbs as well. However, tracks from Alaska suggest that hadrosaurs were already walking on four feet at a very early age. Unfortunately, a new Edmontosaurus baby skeleton is missing the forelimbs that could show their length and so provide anatomical evidence.Â

Sonorasaurus as Arizona state dinosaur bill put forward

''I want to have Dilophosaurus, but if I can't have that, I'd like to have both,'' Chris Fathauer was quoted as saying.

Lawmakers came up with a compromise that would give Dilophosaurus and Sonorasaurus equal footing.

But then more controversy was unearthed: It turned out that paleontologists of the University of California-Berkeley took Dilophosaurus fossils from the Navajo Reservation without permission.

The bill eventually died in caucus.Â

Connecticut has since claimed Dilophosaurus as its own.
