Ha! Nice one.

Jokes aside, there have been some paleontologists who have secured military funding (myself included). In addition to biologically inspired designs (largely UTV and UAV), the U.S. DOD has funding directorates that deal with landscape changes and some Earth Sciences components. One of the odd things about the funding structure in the U.S. is how many topics are covered by the DOD. It's almost like our "miscellaneous" department.

I imagine it will be the same main goal palaeontology has faced for years; to secure funding.

Especially if you're in the USA and not doing research for either the military or wall engineering. :-)
