RE: Dromaeosaur skull from Inner Mongolia (news)
The short prezygapophyses and chevrons suggest a troodontid for photo 1, or
maybe something like Mahakala. The second photo is quite confusing. I'm
pretty sure that's not a theropod skull. The top structure looks sort of like
a sacral vertebra in dorsal view, but the two cruciform structures below don't
make sense in that interpretation. Given the symmetry, it's probably the
braincase/palate of something, and is probably obvious to an expert on that
group.
