Dinosaur tracks from Shandong Province, China

From: Ben Creisler

A number of Chinese journals (including Global Geology in anticipation
of the forthcoming Xinjiangtitan paper) appear in two versions, one in
Chinese and one in English. In some cases the contents are similar,
with English translations of the original Chinese versions of the
papers. However, in other cases the contents may be different.

A recent case in point is a paper about dinosaur tracks found near
Beijing that appeared in the Chinese version of the open access
Chinese Science Bulletin back in January 2012 and even made the cover.
However, the article has apparently never been translated to appear in
the English-language version of the Chinese Science Bulletin. (Pdf is
free.)

This publication split is worth mentioning because of a recent group
of six articles about dinosaur tracks from Shandong Province that
appeared in the Chinese version of the Journal of Palaeogeography.

An English language version of the Chinese publication Journal of
Palaeogeography first appeared in 2012. It has featured a number of
vert-paleo-related articles by North American and European authors.

It is not clear if the articles below will be translated for the
English-language version so I decided to post them.

The link is the same one given above for 2013 issue 4. The top group
of six articles are all about dinosaur tracks from Shandong. The
titles of the articles are quick translations mainly using Google
Translate and some other resources so the official English translation
would likely be different. The links to the Chinese abstracts include
thumbnail photos of tracks and track sites than can be expanded
slightly for more detail.
