Re: Source needed - Rock Formations and their interpretations

On Wikipedia they started to collate the info at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dinosaur_bearing_rock_formations and
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fossil_sites, but the list is far from
complete. It's a good first stop to grab some papers tho, which as Tom said you
will need to do in any case, because dating a formation, paleoeco analysis etc
are dependent on good data and techniques, and such information as found in any
older compilation is often obsolete.

Eike

 Yes, you are asking WAAAYYYYY too
 much!!

 You are going to have to do this piece meal. The 2nd Edition
 of the
 Dinosauria (specifically, Weihampel et al.'s chapter on
 dinosaurian
 distribution) will give you the major fossil bearing beds;
 but you will
 have to find the individual papers on each formation one by
 one to get the
 issues of their genesis and paleoenvironment.
