Currie Dinosaur Museum
(Re-sending this, as some people seemed to have an issue viewing it.
Should be plain text and viewable now.)
Hello one and all,
As some of you may know, there is a project underway to build a
palaeontology museum in northwestern Alberta near Grande Prairie. The
museum will be the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum, and the group
working on building it is the Pipestone Creek Dinosaur Initiative. It
will showcase northern Alberta fossils, and be a center of research,
education, and tourism in palaeontology for the area. You can find all
the information you need about the project in general at the website:
http://www.curriemuseum.ca/
As is (unfortunately) common with large community projects like this,
there is opposition to the museum, and misinformation circulating
regarding the project. In response, we have put together a package of
all the facts involving the museum project, as well as a pledge of
support, to demonstrate the public support that exists for such a
facility. All of this information can be found on the support area of
the website: http://www.curriemuseum.ca/pledge/
There is a link on that information page to sign the pledge of
support. If you are in support of public education and cultural
development of a community through the operation of a museum facility
like the Currie Dinosaur Museum, please take a moment to read the
information and consider signing the pledge of support.
Thank you,
Robin
