FW: Darwin Day petition
Big Mistake. Big Mistake.
This is NOT well thought out. This petition, though noble, renders this
celebration
to obscurity. The value attached to Darwin's birthday is considerably
irrelevant. What
do you hope to achieve?? Lincoln's birthday is on the same day. And this day is
still
pretty much obscure. Leave it alone.
If you really want to put energy into something like this, don't petition
anything so
lack lustre as this. Celebrate the Theory of Evolution (now some 2600 years
old) and all
it's founders on Dec. 25 instead. Then use Darwin as your main focus. Centre
these celebrations
at the height of the global winter equinox celebrations. Don't be so one
dimensional. Study
the game of chess and learn a little about political strategy and tactics.
Nothing looks so pathetic and meek as asking a political figure permission to
celebrate your
heroes!!
Avoid this petition folks. Enough said. --dale
