"Are these conspiracy nuts?" is what I am thinking.  The only word Mr. Bush 
would have used in the instances he said "NOO-kyoo-luhr" would be a genitive of 
the word "nucleus," as this was the context in which it was used and is used in 
the southern States.  As an American who grew up in the southern and central 
States, I can guarantee this.

  If you were talking about German, which was the topic of your follow-up 
paragraph, it was apparent in this one.

  My "topic drift" was about variation in pronounciation, which was the point 
of my response and the topic I was referring to in your post (see above), so 
I'm not sure what I was drifting into.
