THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR AT LEAST TWO
DECADES NOW, CORRECT? HAS ANY AGENCY
TAKEN STEPS TO ENSURE THAT WE WON'T LOSE
THIS VITAL LINK TO THE DISTANT PAST? THE
LOSS OF ANY SPECIES IS TRAGIC (ALTHOUGH
EXTINCTION IS A PART OF THE HISTORY OF
THIS PLANET) - BUT CREATURES SUCH AS THIS
ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE DISAPPEARANCE
OF, SAY, A SPECIES OF RAT. I'VE NEVER SEEN
ONE OF THESE IN A ZOO HERE. LIKE THE MARINE
IGUANA, THIS IS ANOTHER FAVE RAVE.

Another area of potentially untapped discovery
that due to the political situation, makes it
very hazardous to work in the field. If I were
a scientist I'd be loathe to work there without
a platoon of armed guards around (hopefully
not walking over and destroying the fossils.)
