Even "dry" science news is not immune from abuse ...

It was interesting today that NPR had a story on online papers seriously 
curtailing the ability to post comments on their stories due to the constant 
escalation of abuse of their posting agreements with too little staff to police 
them.

Then I was visiting the DinosaurNews webzine and looked at the story on the 
discovery of Tatenectes laramiensis - and happened to jump down to the comments 
section.

Lo and behold, vulgar sexual comments on a story about the discovery of a 
fossil ?!!?!???

The link was actually to a Charleston, W. Va. newspaper story.

The utter immaturity of some of our species is so appalling.
