They're believed to have been cute and fluffy because their kin were feathered, and the reason they needed feathers for was to keep warm. While giant tyrranusaurus probably became unfeathered just like giant mammals, the young were probably cute fluffy chicks.

I think I saw that in Scientific American or Discover or something.

Mind you, I don't know how cute they were, but it sure beat scales!

I sure hope they weren't fluffy!
Cute is in the eye of the beholder or the chomped-upon.
I like my mega-tyrannosaurs pebbly-skinned.
I want them jumping out of the egg ready for kung-fu fighting, with no proto-down getting in the way.
