A very odd case of paleontological impersonation

Although this is not a story about VP, it is such an unusual use for a 
paleontological specimen that it might be of interest to members of 
these lists.

"A treasured piece of moon rock showcased in a key Amsterdam museum is 
nothing but petrified wood, museum authorities said of a gift made to a 
former Dutch prime minister by a US envoy."
