CretAlamna vs. CretOlamna

As I understand it, Glickman described the Cretaceous shark CretAlamna in 1958,
but since then nearly every scientist who discussed the genus referred to it as
CretOlamna. Apparently the error is known, as Shimada mentioned it in a 2007
paper on the genus, yet the mispelling still seems predominate (the genus is
listed as CretOlamna in the PBDB, and Google offers the mispelling as a search
suggestion when you search for the genuine article).

Now, is there a legitimate scientific *reason* for the continued use of
CretOlamna, or is it just inertia and bad habits on the part of researchers?
