Re: Pterosaur Track Show Bird-Like Landing



For those that want more videos or information on the ceiling landings in bats, they are from the research of Dan Riskin, at Brown University. He has some great resources online, and is a great resource, himself, on bat mechanics. Note that the inverted bat landings differ (as one would anticipate) from ground landings.

Dr. Padian had me create a short GIF movie showing how this was done, which he showed as part of his presented abstract. This is available on request. I don't think any 4-point touchdown has been envisioned yet for pterosaurs, but there's one here for bats
