To answer the questions:
The groves are oriented antero-posteriorly, are broad,
and are in the middle of the lateral sides of the
centra. The specimens with the grooves are mostly
lacking tendons on the exposed sides of the
centra(lost due to weathering)and the other sides of
the centra are entirely encassed in calcite so it's
hard to answer the last question. The specimen was
collected as part of undergrad research on the Albian
Wayan Formation of Idaho.
