Galactic forces at work in mass extinctions?
I happen to think that the evidence for the 62-m.y. periodic
extinctions (Rohde and Muller 2005) is fatally flawed. Here's my
reasoning from 2005:

Therefore, then, whatever the validity of this new observation/
calculation/modelling of galactic processes, it cannot have anything
to do with the history of life on Earth. And others don't believe
Rohde and Muller either (for different reasons), though you'd never
guess it from these two stories:
