Do you mean *Macelognathus* or *Hallopus*, which do not belong to the
paraphyletic Mesosuchia (a name I haven't seen in the literature for years)?
How does one derive ""hollow-skeleton lizard" from this?
I get the "koilos" (="coelos") and "saurus" parts, but what's
the etymology behind the middle part?
Skia = skeleton, according to v. Huene's original description which I happen
to have read a month or so ago.
