Re: Species name etymology

DRYOSAURUS altus - Altus (Latin) = "Tall", referring to its gracile form ?

Referring to its tallness. Especially when reconstructed in a too vertical posture.

ORNITHOLESTES hermanni - In honour of Adam Herman, preparator of the
type specimen

Certainly Hermann.

SHUNOSAURUS lii - Named for Beng Lii, a hydrologist and governor of
olden Sichuan province

Li.

TROODON formosus - Referring to the island of Formosa and alluding to
the splendor of the island and of the specimen.

ARGH! Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'd bet money the specimen is just splendid = formosus itself and has nothing to do with Taiwan!
