I'm sure this is simply a typo. The french abstract
has "Les « reptiles volants » de lâ?Tère
mèsozoïque."

It's just yet another miscoding. French quotation marks, « », are ASCII characters; there's no excuse whatsoever for messing an Internet page or an e-mail program up like this.

But then, of course, "reptiles volants" could mean "stealing reptiles" just as well as "flying reptiles". B-)
