The version of WWD with the talking heads was the American (Discovery Channel)
version. Because the Discovery Channel has commercial
breaks where the BBC doesn't, the American re-imagining team needed some way of
cutting out of and back to the action, and so opted
to use those spots as opportunity to get consultants talking about some of the
action.
As far as I know, there are no commercially-released DVDs of that version.
What's on tape and DVD is just the international (aka
BBC, aka the original) version.
