But does "akin" mean "homologous" or "analogous"? I would strongly
suspect the former (seeing as they don't look very similar), in which
case this fact would have no more bearing on stegosaurian lifestyles
than the fact that primate hands are homologous with bat wings has any
bearing on primate lifestyles.
